VISION
The vision of Upper Room Fire Prayer is to know and share God’s story with our neighbors and the nations.
Our desire is to be a place where the un-churched, the formerly churched, and those who are interested to learn more about God can connect with new friends, learn about God and His plan, and grow together spiritually.
Upper Room Fire Prayer is a church, passionate about God and His plan for men and women. We will be a family of imperfect people seeking to learn and to grow in our knowledge of God, one another, and His plan for ourselves and for the world.
CORE VALUES
Upper Room Fire Prayer holds the current Baptist Faith and Message as its doctrinal standard.
God Centered
The church today is in need of a re-centering on God and His priorities, and His glory. Thus our church will seek to bring glory to God by praising Him through worship and engaging in His mission through service.
MEMBERSHIP COVENANT
he Bible nowhere gives believers a specific copy of what a local church covenant should look like. However, the Bible does describe the relationships between people in local churches as covenantal. Christians are commanded to care for one another, participate in ministry together, confess sin to one another, submit to the leadership of their local pastor/elders, etc. Pastors are called to care for the flock entrusted to their care, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to expect God to hold them accountable to this holy calling, etc. It is for this reason that many churches throughout the history of Christianity have written local church covenants.
Doctrinal Statement of Fundamental Truths
I. The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
CONSTITUTION
We declare and affirm these principles in the light of the Scriptures to govern the body in an orderly manner. These principles will preserve the liberties of each individual church member and the freedom of action of this body in its relation to other churches.
